Google Play closed testing for Ukrainian developers

Ukraine has one of Europe's strongest engineering communities, and its developers ship Android apps from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and from abroad. On a new personal Play Console account, the path to production runs through the same gate for everyone: 12 testers opted in for 14 consecutive days. TestSlot provides the testers and a verification record that holds up.

The closed testing requirement applies to developers in Ukraine exactly as it does everywhere else - there is no regional exemption or variation. Organization accounts registered with a D-U-N-S number are exempt.

What is different for developers in Ukraine

  • Your own connectivity does not affect the count

Verification runs on the testers' phones and each streak is computed on our servers. If your power or internet drops for a day, your 14 days keep counting - nothing depends on your machine being online.

  • Tamper-proof verification

Each tester's phone confirms roughly hourly that your app is still installed and reports how long it was used. Day counts come from server timestamps, so a changed device clock does nothing to them.

  • Building apps for clients

If you ship apps for clients, the client's account type decides whether closed testing applies. Organization accounts with a D-U-N-S number are exempt; new personal accounts are not. For several concurrent client apps, each needs its own 12 testers and 14 days.

  • A clean record for the production review

Google evaluates engagement, not just headcount. Real people on real phones, two or three small updates during the window, and specific notes on tester feedback are what get production access approved first time.

How TestSlot gets you through the 14 days

  1. 1

    List your app

Create an account, add your app and pick a plan. Plans start at $19.99 for 15 testers over a full 14-day round.

  2. 2

    Add one tester group email

Add TestSlot's single group email to your closed test's tester list in Play Console. That one entry grants every assigned tester access - no individual invites.

  3. 3

    Testers opt in within hours

Real people on real Android phones join through your opt-in link and install from the Play Store under the same Google account.

  4. 4

Watch the 14 days on your dashboard

Each tester's day count is computed server-side from real timestamps. If someone drops out, a replacement is assigned from the active pool.

Paying from Ukraine

TestSlot prices are in US dollars, starting at $19.99. You can pay with a Ukrainian Visa or Mastercard enabled for online international payments; your bank converts the charge to hryvnia (UAH) at its rate. If you pay from a card issued abroad, that works the same way.

Questions

Does the closed testing requirement apply to Ukrainian developers?
Yes. Personal Google Play developer accounts created after 13 November 2023 need at least 12 opted-in testers for 14 consecutive days before production, regardless of country. Organization accounts with a D-U-N-S number are exempt.
What happens if I lose power or internet during the test?
Nothing, for your count. Testers' phones do the verification and the streaks are computed server-side, so the 14 days continue whether or not you are online.
How does TestSlot prove the testers were real?
Testers use real Android phones, not emulators. The TestSlot app on each phone checks roughly hourly that your app is installed and how long it was used, and reports to our servers, where the day count is computed from real timestamps.
What if a tester drops out?
A replacement is assigned automatically from the active pool, so your count stays at 15 without you managing it.
