Google Play closed testing for Moroccan developers

From Casablanca's Technopark to freelancers in Rabat, Marrakech and Tangier, Moroccan developers are shipping Android apps for Morocco and the wider Arab world. Every one of them with a new personal Play Console account hits the same wall first: 12 testers, opted in, for 14 consecutive days. TestSlot staffs that wall with real testers on real phones, assigned within hours.

The closed testing requirement applies to developers in Morocco exactly as it does everywhere else - there is no regional exemption or variation. Organization accounts registered with a D-U-N-S number are exempt.

What is different for developers in Morocco

  • Apps built for Arabic and French speakers

Apps for the Moroccan market routinely ship in Arabic and French, often with Darija copy too. Right-to-left layouts are where release builds break - mirrored icons, clipped text, misaligned inputs - and they only show up on real devices. Fixing them during the 14 days gives you genuine updates to describe on the production access questionnaire.

  • Targeting the wider Arab-world market

Many Moroccan teams build for MENA-wide audiences from day one. Keep your closed testing track available in the countries your testers are in - if you restrict the track to Morocco only, testers elsewhere cannot install the build. You can narrow production availability later, independently of the test.

  • Time zones do not affect your count

Each tester's streak is computed on our servers from real timestamps, so it does not matter that you are on Moroccan time and a tester is not. Nobody needs to be awake at the same moment for a day to count.

  • Guides in French

Our core closed testing guides are available in French - the requirement, the timeline, and why Google rejects production access even with 12 testers - so you can share them with your team or clients.

How TestSlot gets you through the 14 days

  1. 1

    List your app

Create an account, add your app and pick a plan. Plans start at $19.99 for 15 testers over a full 14-day round.

  2. 2

    Add one tester group email

Add TestSlot's single group email to your closed test's tester list in Play Console. That one entry grants every assigned tester access - no individual invites.

  3. 3

    Testers opt in within hours

Real people on real Android phones join through your opt-in link and install from the Play Store under the same Google account.

  4. 4

Watch the 14 days on your dashboard

Each tester's day count is computed server-side from real timestamps. If someone drops out, a replacement is assigned from the active pool.

Paying from Morocco

TestSlot prices are in US dollars, starting at $19.99. You pay with a Moroccan Visa or Mastercard and your bank converts the charge to dirhams (MAD) at its own rate. Many Moroccan banks require online and international payments to be activated on the card first - the same setting Google's one-time $25 Play Console registration fee needs, so if you have paid that, your card is ready.

Questions

Does the 12-tester requirement apply to Moroccan developer accounts?
Yes. Personal Google Play developer accounts created after 13 November 2023 must run a closed test with at least 12 opted-in testers for 14 consecutive days, wherever they are registered. There is no Morocco-specific exemption. Organization accounts registered with a D-U-N-S number are exempt.
Can I pay for TestSlot in Moroccan dirhams?
Prices are listed and charged in US dollars. Your Moroccan card is charged in USD and your bank converts to MAD at its rate. Make sure online and international payments are enabled on the card.
Do my testers need to be in Morocco?
No. Google counts testers, not their location. What matters is that your closed testing track is available in the countries your testers are in, so they can install the build from the Play Store.
How long does it take end to end?
Setup takes 1-4 hours. Testers are assigned within hours with TestSlot. The testing period is exactly 14 days, and Google's production access review takes 3-7 days - roughly 17-19 days in total.
